DrugChat

Privacy policy

Effective October 2, 2026. DrugChat is a public medication discussion service. Please read this before publishing health-related information.

What is public

Your nickname, post text, review rating, optional treatment duration, replies and publication date are public. Posts may be indexed, copied or archived by third parties. Do not include anything you would not want strangers to read.

What the site stores

We store your contributions, reports and a hashed browser identifier in the site database. A random, secure first-party cookie identifies contributions created in this browser. The cookie is used for contribution management, not cross-site advertising. It expires after 90 days unless renewed by a new contribution.

Basic abuse prevention uses a one-way hash derived from the request IP address and the day, with temporary counters expiring after approximately two days. The application does not store the raw IP address in its database. Cloudflare processes network information to deliver and protect the service under its own policies.

No account required

We do not request an email address or password to post. The site does not use third-party advertising pixels. External sources have their own privacy policies when you open their links.

Deletion and reports

Open “My contributions” in the same browser to delete a post or reply. Losing or clearing the cookie removes the browser’s ability to prove ownership. Use the Report function for privacy or removal requests if this happens; provide the contribution link and reason, without adding sensitive information. Deletion cannot remove third-party copies or search-engine caches. Operational backups may retain data temporarily.

Health information and consent

Submitting a contribution requires explicit agreement to publish its text publicly. This service is intended for adults. Do not submit another person’s health information without their permission. DrugChat is not a healthcare provider or a confidential medical messaging service.
