About DrugChat

DrugChat brings together two useful things: a community for each medication and a separate reference page for its source information. The site is independent and is not affiliated with the FDA, NIH, a drug manufacturer or a healthcare provider.

Our first 100 communities

The launch selection emphasizes medications with strong experience-sharing needs: treatment adjustment, long-term use, side effects, access and quality of life. Public medication-review pages and discussion topics informed the selection. This is an editorial selection, not a verified ranking of Google search volume or the 100 most-discussed medicines worldwide.

Community content

Visitor posts are personal, self-reported experiences. Nicknames do not verify identity, diagnosis or medication use. Editorial conversation starters are clearly labeled, have no fabricated patient ratings and are excluded from patient contribution counts. We do not import other people’s testimonials as DrugChat member posts.

Reference content and sources

Drug pages identify the exact referenced label, manufacturer or labeler, formulation, source URL, label date and retrieval date. US label text comes from openFDA and links to DailyMed. Data coverage varies, and other countries may have different approvals. The database is an informational reference and has not been independently reviewed by a clinician.

Research records are bibliographic references, not an endorsement of their conclusions. Encyclopedia text is attributed to Wikipedia contributors under CC BY-SA 4.0. Media content is linked rather than republished. Search links are labeled as searches and are not presented as imported articles.

Accuracy and corrections

Automated extraction can omit tables or lose formatting. Check the original label before relying on a detail. A missing warning in an imported record does not mean there is no risk. Use “Report an issue with this record” on a drug page to submit a correction for review. Reports are stored for the site operator; this is not a monitored medical advice service.

No treatment recommendations

DrugChat does not diagnose, prescribe, compare treatments for an individual or sell medication. Ask a qualified clinician or pharmacist before starting, stopping or changing a medicine. In an emergency, use your local emergency number.
